HE'S LEFT FOOTED

Knoxville, Tenn (SafeCITY) - Vincent Salters, a 46-year-old Tennessee man was arrested after he robbed a shoe store only to discover later the shoe's he had stolen were all left shoes.

According to police, Salters was inside a Knoxville Shoe Show when he slipped into the store's stock-room and re-emerged with four or five shoes.

Investigators say a store employee locked the front door in an attempt to keep Salters from leaving with the shoes, but he pushed her aside and fled the store with the shoes.

The robbery was all for not, however, since the shoes Salters made off with were all left foot shoes. The right shoes that belonged to the pairs Salters stole were all out on display at the time of the theft.

Police caught up to Salters when he returned to the same store Wednesday and was recognized by an employee.

Salters was booked into jail on charges of theft under $500, simple assault and public intoxication.

BE SOME NASTY BEER

Zachary, Louisiana (SafeCITY) - Lisa Newsome, a 42-year-old Louisiana woman was arrested after she attempted to steal a 12-pack of beer by hiding it between her legs.

According to Zachary Police, Newsome was captured on grocery store surveillance camera waddling out of the store with a half case of Miller Lite hidden between her legs.

Investigators say she entered the Crossroads Grocery store wearing a blue housecoat, stuffed the beer up between her legs, added in a couple of sodas and then exited the store.

Authorities interviewed the woman, who reportedly admitted to stealing the alcohol.

"She attempted to show us how she did it," said Zachary Police Cpt. David McDavid. "But we told her not to pull her pants down."

Police say Newsome has been arrested 40 times in the past, including charges of theft, writing a worthless check and cocaine possession.

She was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of theft. She remains held in lieu of $1,000 bail.

MICHAEL IS A REAL DUMBASS

Salina, KS (The Weekly Vice) - Michael Sampson, a 41-year-old Kansas man was jailed Wednesday after demonstrating what one should never do in court while trying to prove one's innocence. Threatening to slit a judge's throat.

According to Salina police, Sampson was in municipal court, facing charges of driving on a suspended license and littering, when he decided to escalate his problems.

Investigators say officer Sean Wilcox was testifying for the court when Sampson pointed at the officer, then pointing towards his own head as if holding a gun.

When Sampson was asked if he wanted to testify on his own behalf, he reportedly pointed his finger at the judge, the prosecutor and another officer before making a slashing gesture across his throat.

The court quickly wrapped up the proceedings, finding Sampson guilty of driving on a suspended license while dismissing the littering charge. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail, with 80 of those days suspended.

Sampson was then charged with four counts of making a criminal threat and one count of aggravated intimidation of a witness and can be sentenced to 10 years.

SMILE - YOU'RE ON FOOTCAM

St. Petersburg, FL (SafeCITY) - William Wright, a 53-year-old Florida man, was arrested after he allegedly attached a video camera to his shoe and proceeded to video tape up women's skirts in a St. Petersburg supermarket.

According to St. Petersburg police, Wright went to great lengths to capture upskirt images of various women before a female recognized his activities and informed police.

Investigators say a female witness who had seen Wright video-taping women on two prior occasions, notified management when she recognized him at a Florida Publix Saturday.

Deputies say the woman and a store manager watched Wright as he allegedly looked for women wearing skirts. When Wright found a woman he was interested in photographing, he reportedly followed her to the check out line and then slid his foot under her skirt.

Officers stopped Wright and escorted him back to the store's back office. A search turned up several computer flash drives in his pockets along with a trigger device that activated a video camera in his pants. The camera's lens was attached to Wright's shoe.

Wright was booked into the Pinnelas County Jail on a charge of video voyeurism. He was released a few hours later after posting an undisclosed bond amount.

ITSY BITSY BIT OF POT

Marion County, FL (SafeCITY) - Richard Coulton, a 31-year-old Orlando man was arrested after authorities found an itsy bitsy bit of marijuana in his truck. A mere 800 pounds of it, nestled among crates of melons.

According to the Florida Dept. of Transportation, Coulton was traveling from Arizona to Miami when he was pulled over on Interstate I-75 in Marion County.

The truck, which was based out of Orlando, was boarded after the FDOT officer noticed Coulton was acting a bit strange.

Nestled among cartons of cantaloupe, were two pallets that contained brown paper packages. One of the packages were reportedly torn, revealing a leafy green substance inside. A canine unit was then called in which indicated a positive hit for marijuana.

In court, Coulton told the judge he was "shocked" when officers found marijuana in his truck. He went on to deny any knowledge of the marijuana. (after all, it was only 800 pounds worth).

Coulton was booked into the Marion County Jail on charges of marijuana trafficking. His bail was originally set at $500,000, before the judge lowered it to $50,000.

HAMMERS, BELTS & SPOONS

Tampa, FL (SafeCITY) - Stacey Joanna Horace, a 31-year-old Florida woman was arrested Tuesday on allegations she used hammers, belts, extension cords, wooden spoons and a stun gun to discipline her children.

According to the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, an investigation was launched in early November after child protective services received a report of child abuse via the Temple Terrace Police Department.

Investigators say Horace used a variety of tools to punish her children (ages 11 months to 10-years-old) including hammers, belts, wooden spoons, extension cords and even a stun gun.

Deputies also believe Horace held one of her children underwater, threw urine on him and spat in his face. The alleged abuse reportedly went on for 5 years, according to the Sheriff's Office arrest report.

Horace was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail on a single charge of felony child abuse. She was released after posting a $2,000 bond. The children were reportedly placed with family members.

FARMVILLE?

Canoga Park, California (SafeCITY) - SMART - Los Angeles police busted a large scale pot farming operation that was housed inside a large warehouse complete with a sophisticated ventilation system. NOT SO SMART - The building used for the operation was located only 25 feet from the back door of the Topanga police station.

According to Los Angeles police, officers began smelling marijuana in the air about a week ago from a building at 8411 Canoga Ave. Just feet away from the local police station located at 21501 Schoenborn St.

Investigators say the building had little traffic in and out and it's utility bills reported an excessive amount of electricity usage.

The building's ventilation system had been upgraded to minimize the outgoing smell while sophisticated hydroponics equipment was used to pipe in an irrigation system.

The warehouse owners allegedly went to great lengths to keep the odor from leaving the facility, caulking every crack and crevice leading out of the building, according to police spokesperson, Karen Rayner.

"But it was not enough," said Rayner. "Their luck ran out."

After obtaining a warrant, police raided the facility at about 3 pm.

Three suspects have been booked into jail, however their names could not yet be released, Rayner said. Officers were still tabulating the amount of marijuana found at the scene at the time of the announcement.

DARTS & DO DO

Port St. Lucie, FL (SafeCITY) - Scott Leonard, a 44-year-old Florida man was arrested early after he began throwing darts at customers inside a bar and then defecated out in the parking lot when bar bouncers threw him out.

According to Port St. Lucie Police, Leonard was shown the door at Mickey Finns bar after he began throwing darts at patrons instead of the dart board.

Bouncers escorted him out the rear entrance of the establishment which angered Leonard so much he "proceeded to pull down his pants and underwear and defecated onto the rear parking lot," according to the arrest report.

Patrons inside the bar declined to press charges as did the bar's owner - so the officer called Leonard a cab and sent him on his merry way.

Investigators say Leonard returned to the bar a short time later and attempted to drive his vehicle home, despite having a work-restricted license. When a bar employee grabbed Leonard's keys, a brawl ensued.....

This time police arrived once again and took Leonard into custody. He was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail on a charge of disorderly intoxication

JOHN SCOTT IS JOHN SMITH

Los Angeles, CA (SafeCITY) - When a vandal began slapping hundreds of stickers marked "Who Is John Scott" around town on city buses, police were perplexed..... and the mystery went on for months.

Who was this vandal? Surely some unruly youth, right?

The mystery was finally solved when police tracked down the perpetrator to discover the embarrassingly obvious. The vandal's name was.....well..... John Smith, of course. And he certainly was no teen.

Police arrested 74-year-old Smith - nearly seven months after the mysterious signs began appearing.

Investigators say the case was solved after a small patrol was set up to monitor graffiti on the Metro Center's downtown subway station. Officers watched as an older-looking man pulled a sticker out of his brief case and slapped it on the transit hub's main stairwell.

The stickers contained an invitation for users to visit John Scott's website, where the "mystery man" goes on to tease readers about his identity.... and for a price, you can even purchase a Who Is John Scott T-shirt or hat.

Smith was booked into jail on suspicion of felony vandalism.

THE OTHER WHITE MEAT

Three Russian men were jailed after they allegedly murdered a man, ate part of is body, and and then sold the remaining parts to a kiosk - where police believe the man's body parts were used for making pies and kabobs.

According to Russian police, an investigation was opened after dismembered parts of the 25-year-old victim were found near a bus stop in the Russian city, Perm. - Perm is located about 720 miles east of Moscow.

Three homeless men were arrested on suspicion of killing the victim with knives and a hammer before chopping up his corpse and eating part of it. Other parts of the victim’s body were sold to a shop to be made into pies and kabobs, according to investigators.

The men, who all have past criminal histories, were jailed on suspicion of murder.

I'LL FLY AWAY

Griffin, Georgia (SafeCITY) - Dan Wayne Gryder, a well known air show pilot and owner of a vintage DC-3 aircraft was arrested Wednesday after he fled police in an airplane and then threatened to hit the officer's car with it.

According to police, aviation code enforcement officers were attempting to cite Gryder after witnesses reported seeing him drive his vehicle across airport runways and taxi lanes.

When the officers made contact with Gryder, he initially denied that he was Dan Gryder. When the officers on scene ran a check and confirmed the man they were talking to was indeed Gryder, Gryder jumped into his aircraft and ignited the aircraft's engines.

An officer's life was placed in danger due to his proximity to the plane's engines.

Gryder then told the officers that if they did not move their car, he would strike the vehicle with his plane. The officers barely got to the car and moved it away in time to avoid a collision with the aircraft.

Investigators say Gryder's escape plan came to a dead end when he maneuvered the aircraft to the end of the runway and then realized he was low on fuel. Gryder demanded police send him a fuel truck, however, police weren't having any part of it.

"It appears that Gryder did not have enough fuel for a flight," said Sgt. John Hayes. "We were not going to help him leave the ground."

Gryder eventually returned the aircraft to the hanger, where he was taken into custody.

Gryder was booked into the Spalding County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault and one count of obstruction of an officer. Additional charges may be pending, including the revocation of Gryder's aviation license.

KIDS GET PINNED

Golden Valley, Minnesota (SafeCITY) - Arvilla Meinhardt, a 70-year-old day care provider was arrested after she allegedly used large safety pins and pajamas to create straight jackets to control and punish the children she was caring for.

According to police, Menhardt used large safety pins with plastic animal heads to punish the children in her care who misbehaved.

Investigators say Meinhardt told them she would take the child's arms out of the sleeves and then pin the sleeves behind the child's back, creating a straight jacket. She also told officers she would pin the child's pajama legs together at the calves and pin the zippers shut so the children couldn’t get out.

One child in Meinhartd's care told detectives Meinhardt used the same type of pins to attach her to a mattress during nap time.

When authorities visited the daycare, they found pajama tops and bottoms that had safety pin holes in them - corroborating the child's allegations. Meinhardt told officers that she had been using this method to punish and control children in her care for the last 8 years.

Meinhardt was booked into jail on charges of malicious punishment and false imprisonment.

ALL IN THE FAMILY

Burrell Edward Mohler Sr., 77, and his sons Burrell Edward Mohler Jr., 53; David A. Mohler, 52; Jared Leroy Mohler, 48; and Roland Neil Mohler, 47, were arrested on suspicion of sexually abusing children.

A sixth family member, Darrel Wayne Mohler, 72, was arrested as he pulled into the driveway of his Silver Springs, Florida home. Darrel Mohler, the younger brother of Burrell Edward Mohler Sr., is being held in jail in Marion County, Florida, charged with two counts of rape in a Missouri arrest warrant.

The six alleged victims -- all now adults -- came to law enforcement authorities with stories of sexual performances, mock weddings, rape with various objects and a forced abortion during their childhoods, according to court documents obtained by CNN affiliate KSHB in Kansas City, Missouri.

HONEY...IS THAT YOU?

Cardiff, Wales, UK (SafeCITY) - David Roberts, a 68-year-old British man was sentenced and ordered to register as a sex offender after his wife posed as a school girl to discover he was propositioning underage girls in kiddie chat rooms.

Cheryl Roberts, 61, created a profile pretending to be a 14-year-old school girl after noticing that her husband, David Roberts had been spending a suspicious amount of time on the Internet.

When David Roberts logged onto one computer in his private study, Cheryl Roberts used a second computer located in the couple's living room to find out what he was up to.

Investigators say David Roberts began exchanging sexually explicit messages with Cheryl - and even sent her a video that showed him fondling himself. All the while, David never realized that he was chatting with his wife, just a few yards away. When David propositioned the supposed 14-year-old for sex, Cheryl called police and the NSPCC.

Officers seized the couple's computers, discovering dozens of child porn images that David Roberts had downloaded. During questioning, Roberts still did not realize he had been captured by his own wife until detectives enlightened him about how he had been caught.

Roberts pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual activity in the presence of a child, making indecent photographs of a child and possessing illegal images.

He was sentenced to a three-year community order which includes sex offender therapy. He has also been banned from having contact with children and must register as a sex offender.

No jail time was ordered, and the couple has reportedly filed for divorce.

I WANT MY MOMMIE

Phoenix, Arizona (SafeCITY) - Sean Sexton, a 21-year-old Arizona State University student was jailed after he allegedly vandalized a building and shot at police officers with an BB gun.

According to the Tempe Police Department, officers were dispatched to a check cashing business after Sexton used a bb gun to shoot out the windows out the building's windows. The alleged vandalism reportedly caused an estimated $15,000 in damages

When approached by the officers, Sexton fired several shots at them with the gun. Officers realized that the rifle was an air gun and did not return fire. There were no injuries, according to investigators.

Investigators say that they do not know why he chose to vandalize the building, however they suspect he may have had a personal vendetta against the business.

Sexton was booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault and felony criminal damage. Bond amount was not available.

ROBERT DOES A STINKY

Iowa City, IA (SafeCITY) - Robert E. Lee, a 57-year-old Iowa City man was jailed after he allegedly walked into a CVS Pharmacy, defecated on the floor and then exited the building.

According to Iowa City police, Lee walked into a CVS Pharmacy about 4:17 p.m and gave a store full of people a show they didn't want to see.

Lee reportedly walked to the front of the store, lifted his shirt, dropped his pants, and then defecated on the floor. Both store employees and customers reportedly witnessed the event.

Police later caught up with Lee, who smelled of alcohol, had slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet. Officers conducted a breathalyzer test, which showed Lee’s blood alcohol level to be three times the legal limit, according to investigators.

A manager at CVS states that it will cost less then $200 to clean up the feces.

Lee was booked into jail on charges of fifth-degree criminal mischief and public intoxication. Bond amount was not available.

CROSS DRESSING PRINCIPAL

Rochester, Indiana (SafeCITY) - Mr. Tracy Tredway, a 43-year-old Principal at Riddle Elementary School in Rochester, was arrested for drunk driving after he was found intoxicated, wearing a pink dress.

According to police, officers observed Tredway walking unsteadily to his car after leaving a Halloween party at a bar in Argos. When Tredway attempted to drive away, the officer pulled him over.

Investigators say Tredway, who was dressed in drag, was given a blood alcohol test after failing a field sobriety test. His blood alcohol level was reported to be .188, more than twice the legal limit.

Tredway was allegedly found wearing the pink dress shown above, high heels and a wig.

He was booked into jail on DUI charges and has since been placed on administrative leave by school administrators.

TEE MANY MARTOONIES

Portage, IN (SafeCITY) - Zachary R. Duis, a 24-year-old Portage man was jailed for drunk driving after insisting to deputy "Dude, I do this every night!"

According to the Porter County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched around 2:20 a.m. on a report a man in a 1995 Chevrolet s-10 driving erratically.

A deputy pulled the truck over and found an open container of alcohol. They conducted a sobriety test on Duis, which he failed.

He was then taken to the Portage Police Department for a breathalyzer test, which showed his blood alcohol level to be four times the 0.08% legal limit, according to investigators

Duis reportedly told a state trooper “Dude, I do this every night. I’m straight up and not drunk,” basically admitting that he drinks and drives every night.

Duis was booked into the Porter County Jail on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Duis was also apprehended on two warrants for resisting law enforcement and furnishing alcohol to a minor

CALLED 911 - WEED BE GONE

Salem, Ore (SafeCITY) - Calvin Hoover, a 21-year-old Oregon man was arrested after he called 911 to report that someone had stolen his marijuana.

According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to a bar after Hoover called to report someone had broken into his vehicle while he was inside the Freeloader Tavern.

Hoover told the dispatchers that a thief broke into his truck and stole $400 in cash, a jacket and about 3/4 ounce of marijuana.


Deputies arrived at the bar about 1 a.m. but were unable to locate Hoover. After about a half hour, Hoover called back, angry that deputies were taking so long to arrive.

Investigators say the dispatcher was having trouble hearing Hoover during the call because he had stopped several times to vomit.

Deputies eventually located Hoover about 100 feet from his truck. He told deputies that he was looking for the person who had stolen his "weed".

Deputies took the man's theft report and then promptly arrested him, discovering he was drunk and in possession of marijuana.

Hoover was booked into the Marion County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance and DUI.

OUCH!

Shanghai, China (SafeCITY) - Ying Shi, a 26-year-old woman in Shanghai China finally got to the "bottom" of a mystery pain that had her and doctors stumped.

Shi, who had been mugged four months earlier, complained to doctors that she had a stabbing pain in her stomach, but doctors were unable to offer an explanation for it.

Finally, one doctor ordered and X-Ray which revealed the source of the pain - a razor sharp six inch blade that had penetrated deep into her buttocks. In fact, it was buried so deep into her buttocks, that it was pressing against Shi's bladder.

"All I remember of the night was a stabbing pain in my backside," said Shi. "I thought they had just slashed me, I didn't realize the whole blade had gone all the way in."

"I am amazed they missed it the first time around, but very relieved that they've found it now," she added.

EXPLOSIVE DIARRHEA?

Collier County, FL (SafeCITY) - Todd Napodano, a 43-year-old Florida man, was jailed after exposing himself two two women. He later told deputies he was experiencing a case of "explosive diarrhea."

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to an area Wal-Mart after two women reported a man who allegedly exposed his penis to them as they walked to their car in the store parking lot.

They told deputies the man stood up upon seeing them, exposed his penis and then began gyrating his hips in an apparent effort to attract their attention.

Investigators say the man, identified as David Napodano, was still naked when the deputy arrived. When Napodano finally came out of the van, he was described as "dripping with sweat," according to the Sheriff's Office arrest report.

When asked about why he was naked in a Wal-Mart parking lot, the man explained that he had a case of "explosive diarrhea" and was using his underwear to clean himself with. Deputies, however, found no evidence to support the man was having a bowel issue.

Napodano was booked into the Collier County Jail on a charge of exposing a sexual organ. He was released after posting bond.

PERSONAL SEX SLAVE

Palm Bay, FL (SafeCITY) – Tony Green, 44, was arrested when authorities uncovered a twisted kidnapping/sex-slave plot that Green intended to act out against a long-time friend

According to Palm Bay police, Green had long planned to lure a friend of many years in to his home and hold her captive as his personal sex slave.

Authorities say Green had had sexual fantasies about the victim for over a year and been organizing the kidnapping for several weeks. The plan was to pose the woman for pictures, and then use them to blackmail her in to sleeping with him once a week – “as a treat.”

According to reports, the man lured the victim inside his home by urging her to look at his cat. Once inside the residence, Green cuffed the woman, telling her, “I gotta have it.” There was a brief struggle before the victim convinced him to let her go.

Upon searching the home, investigators discovered eyebolts in the floor and ceiling of one room, and additionally seized handcuffs, rope, and leather straps as evidence.

Green was booked in to Brevard County jail on charges of kidnapping, attempted sexual battery, and aggravated stalking. Bond was set at $201,000.

MINI MOUSE IN PANTIES

Chicago, Illinois (The Weekly Vice) - Clinton Watkins, a 23-year-old West Side Chicago man was jailed for attempted murder after he allegedly shot his girlfriend during a domestic dispute when she caught him wearing her panties

According to police, Watkins shot his 21-year-old girlfriend in her chest at his home in the Austin neighborhood Saturday around 9:45 a.m., critically wounding her.

Investigators state that there was an argument between the two prior to the shooting. He was naked except for her underwear which he said he was wearing because he was "lonely".

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital. She was in critical condition, but her injuries appear to be non life-threatening.

Watkins was booked into jail on charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated domestic battery. Bond amount was not available.

I STABBED ME

Edgewater, Colorado (SafeCITY) – Aaron Siebers, a 29-year-old Blockbuster Video clerk was jailed for false reporting after he allegedly came into his work stating that he was attacked and stabbed, then later admitted that he stabbed himself because he needed to be off work that evening.

The reason he needed to be off? He ripped his uniform pants while skateboarding and was worried that he would be “written up” for not wearing the appropriate attire.

According to authorities, Siebers walked into his place of employment, Blockbuster Video, around 6:30 p.m. and reported that he had been attacked and stabbed by three men who tried to rob him.

Investigators state that Siebers had several minor cuts on his face and stomach, as well as a deep stab wound in one leg. He was rushed to San Anthony Hospital where he received stitches for the wound on his leg.

Meanwhile, officers from 5 different agencies complete with K-9 units began a large manhunt for the three suspects, who Siebers described as being “skinheads” or “Hispanic” dressed in all black, according to investigators.

After reviewing a surveillance video from a Target nearby, detectives found that no attack had taken place.Investigators questioned Siebers, who admitted that he stabbed himself because he needed an excuse to get off of work that day. He also admitted that the cuts on his face and stomach were a result from his skateboard accident.

Siebers was booked into Jefferson County Jail on charges of false reporting and obstruction of justice. Bond amount was not available.

LYNCH MOB NEEDED

Indianapolis, Indiana (SafeCITY) - Rachad Strong, a 29-year-old Indiana man was arrested on charges he repeatedly had sex with the 13-year-old daughter of his former girlfriend.

According to Indianapolis Police, Strong repeatedly molested his ex-girlfriend's 13-year old daughter between July and August of 2009.

Investigators say that although Strong and the child's mother had ended their relationship, the mother continued to allow Strong access to the girl, believing he was a good influence on her.

Police say Strong plied the victim with alcohol and prescription drugs before sexually assaulting her. The alleged sexual contact occurred on at least three occasions, according to court records.

Strong's arrest came after police received a tip through Crime Stoppers, leading authorities to his location across the street from an elementary school. He was booked into jail on five counts of felony child molestation.

CRACK HEAD BANGER

Deland, FL (SafeCITY) - Patricia Reynolds, a 39-year-old Florida woman was after she allegedly left her 4-year-old daughter home alone all night to go on a crack-cocaine binge.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, a 4-year-old girl dressed in pajamas appeared on her neighbor's doorstep crying about 5:45 a.m. telling the neighbor that she had awaken to find her mother gone.

Investigators say the woman took the child inside, calmed her down and then walked over to the girl's apartment, but no one was home. That's when she called 911, asking deputies to look into the matter.

The little girl told deputies that her mother was home when she went to sleep, but was gone when she awoke.

Deputies searched the neighborhood and then expanded their search to surrounding areas - eventually finding Reynolds later that morning at a gas station known to be a hot spot for drug activity.

After deputies apprehended Reynolds and placed her in the back of a patrol car, she reportedly became violent, banging her head against the partition in the back seat of a patrol car. She then slipped out of her handcuffs and attempted to flee, however deputies caught her. She repeatedly banged her head against the ground as deputies re-handcuffed her.

Reynolds was treated at a local hospital for lacerations to her hard head when she reportedly told a hospital worker that she had been out all night using crack-cocaine.

She was booked into the Volusia County Jail on charges of child neglect, prisoner escape and resisting an officer with violence.

The child was placed in the care of a relative.

Fort Worth ,TX (SafeCITY) - Mitchel Wayne Stewart, a 39-year-old Fort Worth man was jailed after he broke into an elderly woman’s home, forced her to watch him perform sexual acts on himself and then demanded that she make him a sandwich.

According to police spokesman Sgt. Pedro Criado, the 77-year-old woman was awakened around 1:30 a.m. to the sound of the doorbell.

When the woman answered the door, Stewart grabbed her by the arm and forced her into a chair in her living room. He then committed a sex act in front of her, then forced her to make him a sandwich afterward.

The woman complied, then asked Stewart to leave. He did so, taking her cell phone in the process.

A police detective working security at a local Wal-Mart stopped Stewart for suspicion of theft. Stewart still had the woman’s cell phone at the time of his arrest, according to police.

Investigators say Stewart confessed to the early morning invasion during questioning. Police believe he is responsible for a similar crime that happened back in August. That case is still pending charges.

Stewart was charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault and theft of property. His bond was set at $5,000 for the burglary charge. No bond was listed for the theft charge or the sex act, according to jail records.

UGLY AXE ATTACKER

Mountain Home, AR (SafeCITY) - Jason Marshall, a 29-year-old Mountain Home man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly attacked his wife with an axe, after abusing her and their son in a fit of rage.

According to Baxter County deputies, Marshall attacked his wife with his fists, causing injuries to her back, head, arms, and pelvic area.

When her 9-year-old son tried to intervene, Marshall picked him up and slammed his head against the wall.

Investigators say Marshall’s wife, son, and 16-year-old daughter managed to get away from the deranged man. As they were driving away, Marshall reportedly picked up an axe and swung it at his wife, barely missing her. He hit the vehicle instead.

An ambulance was called to the scene and transported 41-year-old Elizabeth Ann Marshall, and her 9-year-old son to the Baxter Region Medical Center, where they were treated and released.

When deputies tried to arrest Marshall, he allegedly resisted arrest, forcing deputies to subdue him with a Taser.

Marshall was taken to the Baxter County Detention Center where deputies say he continued to be combative and caused damage to the booking area. He was placed in a holding cell in restraints.

Marshall was charged with domestic battery, aggravated assault and resisting arrest. He was ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bond.

Incidentally Marshall was on parole at the time of the attack because of another conviction. Investigators say that he spent time in the Arkansas Department of Corrections for attacking the same woman with a knife.
