LOADED GLOCK

Phoenix, Arizona (SafeCITY) - Wendy Fuentes, a 20-year-old Arizona woman was jailed after she allegedly allowed her toddler daughter to play with a loaded gun as the incident was video recorded.

According to police, officers were investigating an area shooting when they received permission to search a vehicle that contained a camera inside.

Upon reviewing the camera's photographs and video clips, investigators found video of a little girl playing with a loaded Glock pistol.

Investigators say the video showed Fuentes laughing as the toddler pointed the gun at her. A voice in the background stated "show me how you point the gun at mom," according to the police affidavit.

The video was recorded by Luis Bautista-Ortega, the man police were looking to question in the shooting-crime they had been investigating.

Investigators recognized Bautista-Ortega's apartment from the video and went to the apartment to question Fuentes.

Fuentes reportedly began to cry during questioning, stating that she did not know that the gun was loaded. Officers did not locate the gun, but the gun's loaded extended magazine was confiscated from the apartment.

Fuentes was booked into jail on a charge of child abuse.

Note: I have not been able to find a record for Luis Bautista, or answers as to why he was not also arrested on the same charge.
