PUNCHED HEAD

Las Vegas, Nevada (SafeCITY) - Margaret Boyett, a 41-year-old teacher at West Prep Academy was jailed after she allegedly forced a special needs student to repeatedly punch himself in the head.

According to Clark County police - Boyett lost control and attacked a mentally disabled student, forcing a teacher's aid who witnessed the attack to physically intervene.

Investigators say Boyett was angry last month when she grabbed the student's wrist and then forced him to strike himself in the head 7 or 8 times.

Witnesses say Boyett then attempted to slap the student before demanding that he "apologize" for his behavior.

A teacher's aid standing nearby shouted at Boyett to stop. When that didn't work, she reportedly grabbed Boyett's arm to restrain her and then pulled the student away - .

Court documents say that due to the student's disability, he was "unable to comprehend the event and form a statement."

Brooks was booked into the Clark County Jail on charges of child abuse and coercion. Bail in her case was set at $6,000.
