MAKING A BEER RUN


New Port Richey, FL (SafeCITY) - Theresa Jones, a 49-year-old woman fresh out of prison has been arrested again after she stole a car just hours after her release.

According to New Port Richey Police, Jones was released from Lowell Correctional institute in Ocala, Florida after serving out a sentence lasting two years and eight months.

Investigators say Jones met up with a man she became pen pals with while she was incarcerated, and the two drive to a New Port Richey hotel.

Sometime during the evening, Jones took the man's car on the promise she was making a beer run and would return. She never returned.

Police captured Jones Thursday morning - learning that instead of going on a beer run, she stole the man's car and went to find drugs instead.

She was booked into the Pasco County Jail on charges of grand theft auto, possession of cocaine and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $7,300.
