IT'S A DONUT


Alcoa, TN (SafeCITY) - Whitney Alison Holte, a 21-year-old Knoxville woman was jailed after she allegedly gobbled down her stash of cocaine during a traffic stop, telling police it was a powdered donut.

According to Alcoa police, a truck driver called police to report that he had witnessed a vehicle hit a concrete barrier on Airport Highway.

Police pulled over the vehicle in question after seeing her swerve off the road twice around 4:00 a.m. When the officer approached, he noticed the driver was eating a white powdered substance that she claimed was a powdered donut.

The officer told Holte to spit it out into a napkin and she did.

A field test showed the substance in the napkin to be about 3 grams of cocaine, according to investigators.

Holte was booked into Blount County Jail and charged with possession of a schedule II drug with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license, violation of the financial responsibility/insurance statute, and failure to maintain a lane of traffic. She is being held in lieu of $12,250 bond.

She was also charged with three counts of contempt of court. Details of those charges are not available at this time.
