BOW & ARROW

Tahuya, Wash (SafeCITY) - An unnamed 15-year-old girl has been jailed after she allegedly shot her father with an arrow because he took away her cell phone.

According to police, officers arrived at the man's home Wednesday to discover that his daughter had shot him in the stomach with a hunting bow and arrow.

Investigators say the girl shot her father with the arrow and then prevented him from calling 911. She then fled into the woods with the bow and a large cache of arrows.

The man, who has sole custody of the girl, crawled through a window, got into his truck and managed to drive to a neighbor's house. He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center where he is listed in critical condition.

Police, along with a special weapons and tactics team, surrounded the girl in the wooded area and eventually took her into custody. The girl was also taken to a hospital for evaluation, and so neither the girl or the father have been fully interviewed.

"We just have the father saying he was doing parental discipline. He took the cell phone away, grounded her and she shot him," said Mason County Det. William Adam. "It's ridiculous."

Authorities have not yet determined what charges the girl will face.
