THE WAL-MART

Dekalb Junction, New York (SafeCITY) - Pearl Coulibaly, 44, and her daughter, Christine Merritt, 20, were jailed after they allegedly stole almost $1,200 in merchandise from an area Wal-Mart. The two women had cleared the store and were well on their way home with the loot when things went to hell in a hand basket.

According to State Troopers, the two women stole nearly $1,200 in Wal-Mart merchandise, including two televisions, a doll house, several dolls and various Christmas decorations.

The women were reportedly able to get the items out of the store by showing the door greeter an old receipt.

Investigators say the women were on the way home when they began to quarrel about how they would divide up the evening's take. The argument became so heated that a family member called police when the two women arrived home.

Coulibaly and Merritt were booked into jail on a charge of 4th-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
