COUNTRY BLUES

Oklahoma City, OK (SafeCITY) - Shannon Dooty, a 30-year-old Oklahoma fugitive, was nabbed after deputies waited patiently for her to finish singing karaoke before slapping on the cuffs.

According to the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office, Dooty had a warrant for her arrest on charges of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a firearm following a previous conviction of possessing drug paraphernalia.

Deputies arranged a sting operation to capture her after a tip informed them that she was a regular patron of The Alley Club, a local karaoke bar.

Investigators say deputies waited inside the club until Dooty performed a song, took a bow and then headed back into the crowd. Deputies greeted her with handcuffs as she exited the stage.

"The only singing she'll be doing is singing the county blues because she's still being held here at the jail for the charges against her," said Sheriff's office spokesman, Mark Myers.

Dooty was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on the aforementioned charges
