ESCAPE TO PRISON

Garfield Heights, Ohio (SafeCITY) - Ricky Flowers, a 20-year-old Ohio man, was arrested after he scaled a fence in an effort to elude police but found himself in a women's prison instead.

According to the Garfield Heights Police Department, Officers were attempting to stop Flowers for a traffic violation when he opted to lead police on a high speed chase instead.

Investigators say Flowers decided to abandon his vehicle and climb a 30-foot fence. When he dropped on the side, he thought he had successfully escaped capture. He was wrong.

Flowers discovered he had dropped into the yard of a women's prison when alarms began sounding. A prison security dogpile immediately ensued.

Police say Flowers initially fled from police because he was driving on a suspended license. Tasers were used to subdue three passengers from Flowers' car who also resisted arrest.

Flowers was booked into the Garfield Heights Jail on charges of fleeing and eluding, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and obstructing justice
