Parma, Ohio (SafeCITY) - Anthony Russo, a 46-year-old Ohio man was arrested after he allegedly dressed up like Santa and then attempted to kidnap a 12-year-old girl.
According to Parma police, Anthony Russo dressed in an elaborate Santa costume - complete with fake beard, pillow, a box of candy canes and a unicycle decorated with a red bow.
Russo was hiding behind several bushes when he called to a 12-year-old girl passing by in an attempt to get her to come to him.
When the girl continued to walk away, Russo jumped out from behind the bushes and made two attempts to abduct her. After breaking free, the girl ran to a nearby business and sought help from an employee on the premises.
Police later caught up with Russo as he was traveling on a transit bus. He was booked into the Parma Jail and is expected to be charged on Thursday.
