ME AND MY DRUNK SCOOTER

Milwaukee, Wisconsin - Daniel Samplaski, a 35-year-old Milwaukee man was charged after he was caught driving drunk on a major interchange in a wheelchair scooter.

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, deputies spotted Samplaski driving a motorized wheelchair scooter onto the Marquette Interchange.

Deputies say Samplaski's scooter was seen weaving back and forth on a ramp, which entered a lane of traffic on the interchange.

When Deputies pulled him over and asked why he was driving onto a highway with a scooter, he reportedly replied "What am I doing on the fucking highway, I'm trying to get off!"

When the deputy asked Samplaski if he was impaired, he reportedly answered "No, I'm drunk."

Samplaski then reportedly explained that he borrowed the scooter from a neighbor, drank about 12 beers and then got lost on the way home. When the deputy asked him to step off the scooter, Samplaski reportedly fell.

A breathalyzer was administered which revealed Samplaski was intoxicated at nearly three times the legal limit.

He was taken into custody and charged with OWI (Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated). It's the 5th time in the last 10 years he's been arrested for OWI, according to the Sheriff's Office.
