Orlando, FL (SafeCITY) - Jason Gay, a 37-year-old Florida man was jailed after he allegedly attacked a tattoo artist and his customer with a sword and guitar.
According to Orlando Police, the bizarre attack began when Gay walked into a tattoo parlor and was greeted by a tattoo artist who was busy tattooing another customer. The artist asked Gay to wait for him and urged him to look through a book of tattoo designs while he finished with the current customer.
Investigators say that at some point Gay picked up a ceremonial Knights of Columbus sword and an acoustic guitar that was inside the shop. That's when he reportedly got a wild look in his eyes and said "I'm gonna kill you guys. It's your day to die."
Gay reportedly swung the sword and guitar at the artist, striking him in the back and in the head. He then reportedly went after the customer who scrambled to avoid being hit.
Police say the brawl went on for several minutes between the three men until the customer picked up a glass table and smashed it over Gay's head. Gay fled the scene, leaving a trail of blood behind.
When police arrived, they reportedly followed Gay's blood trail down a sidewalk and across Orange avenue. Police eventually located Gay after conducting an expanded search of the area.
Gay was booked into the Orange County Jail on two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
He was recently released from prison after serving a ten year sentence for burglary, grand theft, robbery with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
