Sebastian, Florida (SafeCITY) - George Norris, a 44-year-old Florida man was jailed late last month after he allegedly blew $100 at a strip club, and then claimed he had been robbed so he wouldn't have to face his wife's wrath.
Now he's facing charges and his wife's wrath.
According to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office, Norris had just spent $100 at a strip club when he came home to a wife who wanted to know where the $100 went.
Investigators say Norris and his wife had been having marital problems - so instead of facing his wife's wrath about the money's whereabouts, he called 911 and reported that the money had been stolen.
Norris told deputies that the money had been stolen when he stopped to pick up two men who were walking in the rain.
During the drive, one of the men purportedly held something up to his head and demanded his wallet. The two men then, according to Norris, grabbed the cash out of his wallet and his car keys before fleeing the scene.
Norris stated that he drove around for about an hour looking for the suspects before coming home. He also stated that he found all of the stolen items except for the $100 he spent at the strip club.
Norris later changed his story and admitted to the false robbery claim. He was booked into jail on a charge of filing a false report.
