Woodridge, Illinois (SafeCITY) - Yashesh Desai, a 21-year-old Woodridge man was jailed after he allegedly used a weed whacker to bludgeon his father to death.

According to DuPage County authorities, officers were dispatched after Desai's brother told 911 operators that Yashesh Desai had murdered their father.

Investigators arrived to find Desai's father, 47-year-old Sanjiv Desai, laying dead in a computer room where he had been sleeping on a futon.

An autopsy revealed that Sanjiv Desai died of massive head trauma that had been inflicted by a weed trimmer.

During a police interview, Yashesh Desai told investigators that he bludgeoned his father with the weed trimmer because his father owed him some money. Investigators say Desai then yammered on and on about senseless gibberish that made no sense.

Desai reportedly talked about Godzilla, the Turks, the need for 23 million soldiers and the difference between X and Y chromosomes.

During Desai's initial court appearance, the judge asked how long it had been since he last held a job. Desai reportedly answered loudly stating "The beginning of time."

Desai reportedly blurted out other nonsensical answers in court and laughed regularly as family members watched the proceedings.

Desai was booked into jail on a charge first-degree murder. His bond has been set at $2 million dollars.
