KISS GRANNY

Ocala, Florida (SafeCITY) - Helen Staudinger, a 92-year-old Ocala woman was jailed after she allegedly shot her neighbor's house because he wouldn't kiss her.

According to the Marion County Sheriff's Office, Staudinger didn't listen to her 53-year-old neighbor when he told her to leave his house.

When she told him that she wouldn't leave without a kiss, he reportedly responded by stating "get your (expletive) out of my house." That's when Staudinger allegedly left angry and returned with a .380 semi-automatic pistol.

Investigators say the victim, Dwight Bettner, was talking on a phone in his bedroom, when Staudinger fired four shots toward his home..

Although Staudinger claimed she had intended to shoot Bettner's car, the angle she fired from caused all four rounds to strike his home. One shot went through a window, missing Bettner by inches, according to the arrest affidavit. Bettner was hit by flying debris, but wasn't injured.

Bettner told police that he has told Staudinger that he is in a relationship with someone else, but she insists that he is "her man" and that the two are a couple. Bettner reported that when he told her about his girlfriend, she threatened to shoot him.

Bettner also told police he has been having ongoing issues with Staudinger, and believes that she is "enamored" with him.

Staudinger was booked into the Marion County Jail and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and firing a missile into an occupied dwelling. She is being held in lieu of $15,000 bond.
