WHACKED & SMACKED

Naples, Florida (SafeCITY) - Hersha Howard, a 31-year-old Naples woman was jailed after she allegedly beat, bit, whacked and smacked her roommate over a box of girl scout cookies.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, Howard burst into her roommate's room and began accusing her of eating her box of "Thin Mints" girl scout cookies.

The victim, Jasmin Wanke, explained that she had given them to Howard's kids around 1:00 a.m. because they were hungry.

Investigators say Howard continued arguing with Wanke, then reportedly jumped on top of her and punched her in the face. Wanke's husband separated the women.

As Wanke began walking away, Howard grabbed a pair of scissors and followed after her. When the women got downstairs, Howard dropped the scissors and instead hit the victim with a board. Wanke ran into the kitchen and Howard again attacked her, biting her in her breast.

The victim then ran outside, where Howard hit her several more times with a sign. Wanke's husband tackled Howard before police arrived on the scene and apprehended her.

Howard was booked into the Naples Jail Center and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
