HUG & STAB


Henrietta, New York (SafeCITY) - Kevin Minemier, an 18-year-old Rochester man was jailed after giving his girlfriend a hug before repeatedly stabbing her in the head.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Minemier and his girlfriend were shopping for groceries in the frozen food section of Wegmans when things turned unexpectedly violent.

Investigators say Minemier and girlfriend, 17-year-old Nicole Bean, were seen embracing when Minemier pulled out a six-inch knife and began stabbing Bean's head. Minemier reportedly stabbed Bean multiple times in the face, eye and shoulders.

Two men, Mustafa Said, and Christopher Patino, 16, heard the girl scream and wrestled the knife away from Minemier. The two teens and two other witnesses held Minemier down until deputies could arrive to the scene.

Bean received serious eye injury and is remains hospitalized. The two teens credited with saving her life were treated for cuts to their hands after wrestling the knife away from Minemier.

Minemier was booked into the Monroe County Jail on charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault. He was arraigned the next morning in Henrietta Town Court.
