SWALLOWED BAG

Framingham, Massachusetts (SafeCITY) - Art Taylor, an 18-year-old Framingham man was jailed after he allegedly swallowed a bag of cocaine, then fought with the officers who were trying to retrieve it.

According to Framingham police, Taylor was pulled over after he reportedly made a turn without signaling. When officers asked for his license and registration, Taylor refused and provided them no identification.

Investigators say an officer witnessed Taylor reach quickly into the center console and retrieve a baggy filled with a powdery white substance. He then placed the baggy in his mouth while resisting an officer who was trying to stop him.

The officer pulled Taylor out of the vehicle and into the street so Taylor could be placed in handcuffs, but Taylor fought officers and ultimately swallowed the substance before officers could get him subdued. Officers searched Taylor's vehicle, but found no other drugs or paraphernalia.

Taylor was booked into jail and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and refusing to give police his license and registration. He was also cited for not using a turn signal. He was released with no bail pending a court hearing on January 6th.
