FORGOT THE D'NUTS


Wilmette, Illinois (SafeCITY) - Anthony Rapoport, a 24-year-old Illinois man was jailed after he allegedly beat his aunt to death with a baseball bat on Christmas day following a spat over doughnuts.

According to police, officers were originally dispatched to the home of the victim - identified as 49-year-old Nancee Rapoport - after she and Anthony Rapoport got into a quarrel because he had forgotten to buy doughnuts as she requested.

Police took Anthony into custody after discovering that he had a warrant for his arrest.

Investigators say Anthony Rapoport was released on bond, returned home and became engaged in a shouting match with the victim, also identified as his Aunt.

Hershel Rapoport, Anthony's grandfather, told police he came downstairs after hearing the two arguing in the kitchen. that's when he reportedly saw Anthony pick up a baseball bat and strike the victim in the head.

The aunt reportedly fell to the floor, where blood quickly pooled around her.

Police arrived on scene to find blood spatter "all over" and the victim unconscious with severe head trauma. The victim was rushed to an area hospital where she died on Sunday.

Anthony, who fled on foot following the attack, was arrested in the neighborhood a short time later with blood on his clothing. He reportedly told police he attacked his Aunt because he "was tired of being nagged."

Anthony was booked into jail on a charge of murder. Bail has not yet been set in the case.
