GOOD TRY GRANDPA


Lebanon, Ohio (SafeCITY) - Richard Heritz, an 85-year-old Ohio man was jailed after he attempted to sneak marijuana into jail to give to his grandson.

According to police, officials were notified earlier this month that Heritz was going to attempt to bring marijuana into jail for his grandson, who is incarcerated for a burglary conviction.

When Heritz arrived to jail for an August 13 visit, he was confronted by Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections officers who found him to be in possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana.

Heritz got a jail cell of his own. He was booked on charges of attempting to convey drugs at a dentention facility and possessing criminal tools. He now faces up to 7 years in jail and a fine of up to $15,000.
