MY HAIR!

Union, South Carolina (SafeCITY) Sandra Powell, a 72-year-old South Carolina woman, was arrested for allegedly driving 102 mph in a 45-mph zone because she was late for a hair appointment.

According to the Union Police Department, Powell was clocked driving at high speed on the highway and her car was all over the road, almost causing a crash when it passed another vehicle.

Investigators say, after Powell was pulled over, the officer asked her if she was alright and she said yes. Powell then told the officer she was upset because she was late for a hair appointment.

Powell stated that she was aware she was driving in excess of 100 mph, but was "relieved" when the officer pulled her over.

"I actually sighed," Powell said.

Powell was booked into the Union County jail on a charge of reckless driving.

After she was released from jail, Powell went to the hospital, where a doctor said tests indicated that a kidney infection may have contributed to Powell's erratic behavior.
