BOMBS AWAY!

Reno, Nevada (SafeCITY) - Leland Dement Jr, a 60-year-old Reno man, was jailed this week after he allegedly made bomb threats against a Catholic elementary school using 911.

According to Reno Police, Dement called 911 on 20 different occasions to announce bomb threats against Our Lady of The Snows Elementary School.

Authorities say Dement was arrested the same morning at 9:30am.

Police say bomb-sniffing dogs were sent to the school but no devices were found.

As a safety precaution, the school stayed closed while investigators completed their sweep.

Dement was booked in the Washoe County Jail on suspicion of two counts of making unlawful use of 911 and one felony count of making a bomb threat. His bond was set at $28,000.
