Elk City, Oklahoma (SafeCITY) - Matthew Dixon, a 25-year-old Oklahoma man was jailed after he allegedly tried to make off with a woman's "Hot Referee" costume by shoving the item down his pants.
According to Oklahoma City Police, an off-duty officer was working as a security guard at Party Galaxy late Friday when he saw a man pick out a costume and head towards the back of the store.
Investigators say the customer, later identified as Dixon, proceeded to remove the costume from it's packaging and shove it down his pants.
When Dixon noticed he was being watched by the officer, he attempted to remove the item from his pants and exit the store. When the officer grabbed his arm, he attempted to flee, but instead fell to the ground where he got a mouth full of carpet as the officer handcuffed him.
Dixon was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a pending charge of merchandise larceny. He was also held on a pending charge of interfering with an official process stemming from an active warrant for his arrest.
