JUGGALO
Bartlesville, Oklahoma (SafeCITY)- Andrew Davis, a 20-year-old Bartlesville area resident was jailed Tuesday after he allegedly struck a man with his vehicle, then fled the scene wearing clown make-up.
According to Bartlesville police, officers arrived on scene to find a man lying on the ground, bleeding and bruised.
Witnesses told investigators that the man was truck by a vehicle whose driver sped away shouting "whoop whoop," a slang term used by Juggalos.
"Juggalo" is the term used to describe fans of a horror-core band known as "Insane Clown Posse". ICP fans are known to identify themselves by wearing face paint that resembles a clown.
Investigators say the victim was reportedly walking down the street when he and two men in a dark colored sedan got into an altercation. Davis then swerved across the road and ran over the victim, dragging him under the vehicle for nearly 100 feet before fleeing the scene.
The victim suffered multiple abrasions to his body and was taken to the local hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.
Officers reportedly found Davis two miles away from the scene wearing the signature "Juggalo" face paint. He claimed that the victim walked up to his vehicle and punched him in the face for an unknown reason, and that he accidentally struck the victim while trying to drive away.
Davis was booked into jail and charged with felony assault and battery with a deadly weapon, and leaving the scene of an injury accident. He is being in lieu of $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
