NEUTER THE CAT
Queensbury, New York (SafeCITY) - Lisa M. Clothier, a 46-year-old Cossayuna Lake woman was jailed Thursday after she allegedly attempted to neuter a co-worker's kitten.
According to New York State Police, on October 10th, a woman brought her kitten into Northway Emergency Veterinary Clinic Moreau because it's genitals were injured.
Investigators say the kitten's owner and Clothier worked at the Queensbury Wal-Mart together. The owner was at work complaining about neutering prices when Clothier claimed that she had a veterinarian background and would be able to neuter the animal for her.
When she performed the procedure, however, she did it on the wrong part of the cat's genitals, which created a medical emergency that required treatment. It is not known if Clothier was paid for the procedure and investigators have found no proof that Clothier was a licensed veterinarian.
Clothier was booked into jail and was charged with animal cruelty.
Detectives are trying to determine if Clothier performed any other veterinary procedures on animals. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call 583-7000.
