Las Cruces, New Mexico (SafeCITY) - Theda Bonner, a 60-year-old Las Cruces woman was arrested after she allegedly beat her ex-husband in the face with a hammer.
According to Las Cruces deputies, Bonner was allegedly staying with her ex-husband when they took a drive. At some point, Bonner allegedly hit him in the nose with a hammer.
Bonner's ex-husband allegedly claims that Bonner was violent during their marriage but he never reported it.
"Back when we were married I never called anybody because it's kind of a shame," said Bonner's ex-husband. "It's hard to call the police and say my little bitty wife is beating me up."
"It hurts, it's a little sore, but thank goodness she isn't any bigger," said Bonner.
Bonner was arrested and taken to the Do-a Ana County Detention Center and charged with one count of aggravated battery against a household member. Bond has been set at $10,000.
