Pascagoula, Mississippi (SafeCITY) - William Velasquez Castillo, a 27-year-old illegal immigrant residing in Ocean Springs, was jailed after he allegedly molested a 10-year-old girl. He was arrested wearing a t-shirt that read "I'm hiding from the cops."
Apparently, he didn't hide well enough.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Castillo, who is unemployed and has a previous felony conviction for shoplifting, has been under investigation since April, when a young girl told authorities Castillo sexually assaulted her inside a vehicle.
A warrant was issued for his arrest, but he fled the area when he learned he was wanted by police.
Investigators say Castillo was at the Dorsett Hotel in Lucedale when he was discovered by U.S. Marshalls wearing the ironic t-shirt.
Castillo was booked into the Jackson County Adult Center on charges of child molestation. He attempted to wear the T-shirt inside-out for his arraignment, but the judge made him wear it properly. His bail was set at $50,000.
Immigration and Custom Enforcement is conducting their own investigation. Castillo is currently placed on their holding list.
